| Hello and welcome to the first entry into the Boyd Racing Teams Diary. Todays topic being the 2003/2004 Drag Racing Season and our involvement. Firstly we will be out and about covering drag meetings around the country, including various rotary and import meetings and showcasing them to New Zealand and abroad at Kiwidragracing.com Also we are planning to make an appearance on the track sometime in the new year, 2004, with Dean Boyd's 1974 LH Holden Torana. Some may remember BRT racing the Torana back in 1999/2000 in B/TS trim, running 9.68 at 140 mph with SB Chevy power. Shortly after, most of the motor was sold so the car has been in storage till recently when we began stripping it down for a refreshen and a new small block motor combination. So over the coming weeks and months we will bring you details of our preparation progress leading to the first meeting and then continuing to the end of the season. Below are shots taken in September/October during varius stages of stripping and reconstruction. |

| 8th January 04 |
| First of the new year's updates for ya. So what's been happening in the BRT camp lately? In between all the usual summer activities we have make some progress with plenty of cleaning and painting going on the Torana.. The front half of the chassis is painted and within another week the complete, painted suspension should be fitted. The rear end is getting a new coat of paint also and will be ready to assemble the following week. In the motive power department, piles of bits have been ordered as we take advantage of the good dollar. Some weeks away though before the motor is ready but we are still planning to hit the track in February - fingers crossed! |

| As the upcoming 2007 / 2008 season is very nearly upon us. Am sure many a team are working towards getting their cars ready to hit the track. BRT are likewise doing the same and are planning to re enter the racing scene, firstly with Ian Boyd to debut his altered at the Nov 6th, Test n Tune meeting at Champion and secondly with Dean and Glenn Boyd to run the Torana in the second half of the season at selective events in 2008. | BRT Update. Pictures above are the debut of Ian Boyd in his Holden powered altered at the GM Enthusiasts Club day at Meremere held in October. Initially he was going to run at the Test N Tune later but took opportunity to make a few shakedown runs at the GM day instead. Good move considering now that the test day was a wash out! Ian got in 4 shakedown runs, each a bit quick than the previous, sorting out the handling and getting used to the car. So part from a problem at the end of the day with a bearing in the steering box, the day went well so next stop is the opening meeting at Meremere on 8 and 9 of Dec. See u all there |
