EASTER OUTLAW DRAG MEETING CHAMPION DRAGWAY, 20th APRIL 2003

Over 100 cars showed up for the 8th annual Easter Outlaw Drags on Easter Sunday at Meremere. There was a good mixture of street cars, comp cars, bikes and midget dragsters to ensure plenty of action for the crowd......... Unfortunately the weather wasn't kind to one and all with the meeting getting underway but persistant drizzle mean't qualifying and eliminations for the main brackets couldn't be completed. Some passes were made by most early on and later a little grudge racing after the track dried briefly keeped the crowd entertained before the burnout competion was completed in the rain. Hopefully next year the weather is a little more kind to this annual event which has become an important part of the drag racing scene.
